There’ve been some major downhill reports on Nostrana lately, but it’s hard to tell if it’s just growing pains as it’s still been only about a month that they’ve been open.

I can assure you that putting crispy pepper bacon on anything will win you points in my book! I will definitely be in next time I’m in town.

I made tempura bacon at home—you’re right, it totally changed the flavor and texture of the bacon, but I actually kinda liked it!

Hi there:

I just opened a restaurant in North Portland and a friend told me that someone had blogged a review, so I was just snooping around for it and found your site. I had to check it out…our bar/restaurant just got reviewed in the portland mercury and the dude writing the story poked fun at me for putting crispy pepper bacon on virtually everything. (Well, it’s only on 5 of the dishes if you want to be exact). It is true that I do love bacon, yes. Come on down to Sagittarius next time you visit portland, and we will serve you some. We even beer-battered and deep fried some the other night just to see how it was (it was kind of sucky, tasted like ham too much, ham in pastry…the bacon taste was totally altered). Cool
