My latest restaurant post is up at Seattlest: El Puerco Lloron

El Puerco Lloron and Oaxaca de la Carta compete for my love:

Have you tried the black beans at El Puerco? I prefer them to the “regular” beans.

  2. No fair, I’m drooling and dinner isn’t for a couple of hours yet. I need to time my visits here better. Carnitas for me, fat and all.

This is why I don’t read restaurant reviews for restaurants I can’t get to! Oh oh oh! I am dying for those carnitas…”melting pieces of attached fat on your meat”…I wouldn’t have it any other way :-)

BTW, I just posted my try at your dry ribs on my blog…they were great!

Laurel, I’m totally embarrassed to say this, but I never even knew El Puerco had a bean option. I love black beans though, so I’m definitely going to try them next time. Thanks so much for the tip!!

PC, I know how you feel. I get sad every time MeatHenge posts about Fatted Calf. It’s so hard to read about food you can’t have…

Joey, I’m so glad there are others out there like me—that like the fat. I just looked at your dry ribs and I have to say, that’s one of the best meat close-ups I’ve ever seen!!! Nice work!
